I've received nearly a thousand emails since I first built this site. Some ask about the value of some item of memorabilia, a few want to find out how they can get in touch with that girl who worked in one pavilion or another, but most just want to share their memories of the fair.

What impresses me is how much the fair has become a part of Spokane's DNA. Say the word "Expo" to pretty much anyone and they know exactly what you're talking about, and more likely than not, it will spark an impassioned conversation. That communal experience is probably the true legacy of 1974, more than even the beautiful Riverfront Park or lessons about preserving the planet.

Want to share your memories? Send an email!.

"My dad is King Cole, president of Expo '74..."

"I lived In Spokaloo and was eight and we went to the Expo all the time..."

"The idea that five million people visited Spokane in six months is also hard to fathom..."

"I was the Deputy Director of the '74 World's Fair Folklife Festival..."

"I was seven years old when my family traveled from Southern California by car to spend a day at the fair..."

"My memories of the fair include the Ride Over The Falls..."
